How To Restart Iphone 8 Plus Or 8
The process of restarting iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is a bit different. Though it’s still quite simple, some folks might find it complex.
Unlike earlier, you need to use the combination of three buttons to force restart your iPhone 8/8 Plus. With the Power ON/OFF button carrying out multiple tasks like activating Emergency SOS and temporarily disabling Touch ID/Face ID, Apple had to slightly tweak the method of restarting its newest iPhones.

Step #1. First and foremost, press and quickly release the Volume up button.
Step #2. Next, you have to press and quickly release Volume down button.
Step #3. Next up, you will have to press and hold the Side button for about 10 seconds until you see Apple logo on the screen.

iOS 11 allows you to restart your device even without using buttons. To do so, you need to use AssistiveTouch.
Step #1. Open Settings app → Go to General.
Step #2. Tap on Accessibility.
Step #3. Tap on AssistiveTouch.
Step #4. Turn it on.
Step #5. Next, tap on the AssistiveTouch button.
Step #6. Then, tap on Device → More.
Step #7. Tap on Restart → Then, you need to tap on Restart again in the popup to confirm.
What do you think of this new method of restarting iPhone? Is it more simple or complex?
To me, it would have been easier had the method been same on all the iOS devices. While you have to use Home button and Power ON/OFF button on iPhone 6s/6s Plus and earlier devices, you need to use volume down button and sleep/wake button on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus to reboot the device.
